Event co-owned by GES and the Indian government.
Honour to record hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump, businesswoman and daughter of the American President on the same stage.
Being the ‘chosen one’ by both NITI Aayog and the US Consulate for the same event.
The GES Hyderabad Story
One of our most prestigious projects till date, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017, Hyderabad, gave us the exclusive honor of catering to the international business and political community. Chosen by NITI Aayog among many a contender, this event got us rubbing shoulders with the who’s who of the U.S. Consulate, the P.M.O. office, the various Embassies besides the state government among others.
Possibly Amplify’s first big international conference, GES saw us using 70-120 cameras and over 40 photographers. Our videos were live-streamed across 150 countries and was shared by the social media handles of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump among others.
We don’t just work with the client; we partner with them and the event organisers. This involves staying close to them, understanding their event and even suggesting possibilities of videos which will generate maximum buzz about the event. For at least 4 days, I worked as closely with them as possible, as a stakeholder in every sense, so that when last minute requests cropped up like the ‘introducing India’ video, we were able to deliver them overnight.

One of the most challenging tasks about the event was creation of a Glimpses video for every single day. This is where I decided that we need to think of this as a documentary. Everyday post 6 p.m., when the event would get over, our guy would sit and do a post-scripting of the event depending on the shots taken throughout the day. After that, the editing process became easy. We just had to pick up the right B-Roll as per the script and deliver the video by night.

In events such big as this, where there are 12-15 programmes happening simultaneously, the greatest challenge is coordination. Now considering that this was an event that involved serious security protocol, we were not able to use our usual mode of communication, the walkie-talkie. The jammers did not allow network access at the venue but we managed to keep things in order through preplanning in terms of allocation of different units to different duties and communicating through Whatsapp chat and calls. Maintaining confidentiality was also crucial but the joy of seeing our photographs on the White House Flickr page made it all worthwhile.
